Dr. Emma Asonye Inspires Graduates at PPEPTech High School in Douglas, Arizona

Dr. Emma Asonye delivered an inspiring graduation speech at PPEPTech High School in Douglas, Arizona. This time, his message centered on community, success, and giving back, emphasizing the journey beyond academic achievements.

Dr. Asonye began by reminding the graduates that their achievements are not theirs alone, as they were shared victories of families, mentors, and the entire community. He said, “We come together when members of our community achieve success. We rejoice, appreciate, and encourage them to do more.”

While encouraging the graduates to applaud themselves for reaching this significant milestone, he reminded them that the graduation is not the end of a journey but only the beginning of the next chapter, as each stride in life builds upon the last.

The central theme of Dr. Asonye’s speech was the importance of giving back. He highlighted that although success begins with self-belief, it is strengthened by the contributions of family, friends and the school community.  He challenged the graduates to ask themselves, “What do I have to give back that contributed to my success?”

Reflecting on his own journey, Dr. Emma shared how he had devoted himself to teaching and mentoring young people, instilling in them, the desire to make impact their communities positively, and he urged the graduates to apply the same principle.

As the event came to an end, Dr Asonye gave a powerful closing remark, “The eyes of your community are upon you. Do not disappoint them. Your success story is not just yours—it belongs to everyone who has helped you along the way. Therefore, you must make your community proud as you move forward to the next stage of your journey.”
